MEET SAMMIE, YOUR PUBLIC SPEAKING COACH AND COMMUNICATION COACH
“Be More Organized.” I Asked How. My Boss Said, “I Don’t Know.”
That moment sent me looking for the practical “how” behind clearer communication.
Today, I help executives, founders, C-suite, and fast-thinking professionals turn what’s happening in their heads into communication people can actually follow.
HERE’S HOW I GOT HERE ↓
That “I Don’t Know” Stuck With Me
I was good at the core of my job. But I’d been told to get more organized, break down my goals, and focus better.
I wanted to improve. I just needed someone to show me how.
That experience stayed with me because I started noticing how often smart professionals hear the same kind of vague advice:
My search for the “how” eventually led me to public speaking training.

I Thought Energy Made Me a Great Speaker. Then I Learned Energy Isn’t the Message.
Early in my career, I led workshops for college students on career development. I could bring energy into a room. I could hold attention. I could make people laugh.
And for a while, I thought that meant I was communicating well. What I didn’t realize? I was sometimes entertaining people instead of actually landing the message.
Public speaking training taught me something much more useful: how to identify what matters, structure ideas, and make the message clear enough for someone else to follow.
The humor could support the message.
The energy could support the message.
But neither one could replace the message
Then ADHD Connected the Dots
About a year after that performance review, I was diagnosed with ADHD.
I had spent years helping other people figure out their next steps.
Suddenly, I had to own mine.
That meant learning how to work kindly with my ADHD brain instead of constantly trying to force it into systems that weren’t working.
At the same time, I was building my coaching business and noticing something: A lot of my clients had ADHD too.
I wanted to understand how to support them better. I wanted to understand why public speaking training had helped me so much. And honestly? I wanted to understand myself better too.
Public speaking taught me how to slow racing thoughts, choose what mattered, and give my ideas structure. ADHD coaching helped me understand why those skills worked for my brain in the first place.
That combination eventually became the work I do now.

Training Since 2013. Coaching Since 2020. Here’s Why Both Matter.
I believe good coaching should have both:
Training
To understand the work.
Experience
To know how to apply it.
My training spans coaching, ADHD, career development, communication, and leadership, including credentials through the International Coaching Federation, ADD Coach Academy, and National Career Development Association.
Now, when someone asks me “how?”, I actually have an answer.

I’m Now Known As The Public Speaking Coach for Fast, ADHD, and Neurodivergent Brains
I work with ADHD and neurodivergent professionals, immigrants, and multilingual speakers, and plenty of people who identify with more than one of those experiences.

Many clients
-
Are learning how to organize fast or frozen thoughts.
-
Are navigating language, cultural, or workplace communication expectations.
-
Are doing both.
It’s about helping you understand how your brain processes ideas, then building practical ways to structure those ideas, speak with confidence, and communicate clearly when the pressure is on.

My Approach to Communication Coaching
When we change ourselves, we change the world.
I believe confidence is built through practice, feedback, reflection, and learning what already works well about the way you communicate.
Through committed practice, expert feedback, and accountability, I help you recognize the expert you already are and communicate your ideas more clearly to your team, your clients, your community, or the room in front of you.
You don’t need to become someone else to sound confident.

You need enough practice and self-trust to sound more like yourself when it matters.
So, Why “Speak Y’all”?

I’m from Texas, and “y’all” has always felt bigger than a word to me.

Everyone has something worth saying. Everyone can learn how to say it.
You don’t need the “right” personality.
You don’t need to be the loudest person in the room.
And you don’t need a brain that works exactly like everyone else’s.
You need the tools, practice, and self-trust to communicate in a way that still sounds like you.
That’s Speak Y’all. Speak once and for y’all.

And When I’m Not Talking About Public Speaking...
There is, technically, a human being behind all these certifications.
I teach Latin dance. I’ve done improv and stand-up comedy.
And I take finding good vegan food in Pittsburgh with an entirely unreasonable level of seriousness.
Turns out dancing, comedy, coaching, and public speaking have a lot in common.

TRUST YOURSELF
You Don’t Need Someone to Tell You to “Communicate Better.”
You Need Someone Who Can Show You How.
If you know your ideas deserve more space than they’re currently getting, we can work on the structure, practice, and self-trust that make it easier to speak up when it counts.
Work with a public speaking coach and communication coach who helps you sound more like yourself, not less.
